The School Day

Children should arrive at school before 8.50 am, for an 9.00am start. School closes at 12.30pm. Our day is divided into 2 teaching sessions, each of which is 1.45 minutes long. The lessons are taught by the class teacher .

Students have a mid morning break . A snack should be provided for the morning break . Please ensure that your child has sufficient drinks in non-breakable containers for break time. In addition water fountains are located around the school and children are encouraged to refill their drink bottle from the water fountain, the water filters are changed regularly.

Belongins

We do discourage children from bringing expensive or easily broken toys to school. However, young children are naturally acquisitive. Please do not be over concerned if your child comes home with someone else's possessions in their bag. Have a quiet talk to them and send the item back to school the next day, preferably with a note in your child's diary. No fuss will be made and the item will be quietly returned to the owner.

Diaries

Your child will be provided with a school diary and a  book bag on their first day at school. The diary provides parents, students and teachers with the opportunity to communicate on a regular basis. There is a space for you to write notes about your child's absences or questions that you might have.  The teachers check the diaries regularly and find them an extremely useful means of home-school communication.

Equipment

It is very important that all students have the equipment they require on a daily basis in order to carry out their learning activities.  Please check your child's equipment regularly so that lost and damaged items can be replaced as required.

Facilities

Scuola Italiana Manzoni is a modern building with excellent facilities to support student learning. All classrooms are well resourced. In addition we have a large hall for performances and other events. Our outdoor spaces provide a variety of play and teaching areas with opportunities for physical activity and quiet reflection.
